The Rift Vale is a small political entity that resides in a large valley deep in the heart of the northern Ice Rock mountains. This makes Duthelm and Borrell its closest neighbors. The Rift Vale is an unusual nation for many reasons. It has only one permanent city. It's citizens are all of one race, a species known as the xorians, who were brought, en masse, to this world through a spatial rift by Duthelm. It is now ruled by a single being, Xor, who many claim is a demigod of sorts. The nations of northeastern Ithria (Borrell, Carrikos, Duthelm, Kitar) generally limit contact with the aggressive xorians and the xorians seem content to be left alone. Those few hardy souls who venture into the Rift Vale rarely live to tell the tale. Very little known about this region or the xorians.
The Rife Vale is a deep, barren valley in the central northern Ice Rock Mountains. The region has been stripped of most fauna and flora. What little flora still remains is brown and sickly. The region is home to wild dogs and strange unidentifiable creatures that crawl about the rocks.
The xorians have effectively cleared out their territory of any unwanted animals. They use burrow hounds as trained dogs. Also, there are reports that the xorians have a number of unusual animals serving them as steeds, guard dogs, war dogs, etc. It has been speculated that many of these creatures were brought through the Rift Gate. Little is known about the plants in this region. It is likely that the xorians do not harvest whatever useful plants may be available.
Prior to the Second Demon War, the Black Sorcerers of the Citadel made contact with Xor, a mysterious being of great power. Years of planning went into the Second Demon War. As Duthelm gathered troops and resources, the Black Sorcerers used every bit of their power to construct a large inter-dimensional gateway. This device appeared as a single large black metallic ring that spins about a central point. The whole is surrounded by six large obelisks set on a raised stone platform. A shimmering field of blue energy formed in the center whenever the device was activated. It was named the Rift Gate. With this device, the Black Sorcerers, opened a spatial rift with another dimension and allowed Xor and his minions, the xorians, to enter this world. The Xorians entered into a pact with Duthelm and, thus united, began a campaign of conquest against the Great Rukemian Empire. The Second Demon War was born. However, the Second Demon War soon faltered when Xor attempted to wrestle control of Duthelm. A struggle for political and military control of the nation followed and the Second Demon War came to an abrupt end. During the struggles for control of Duthelm, the Rift Gate was damaged. The Xorians quickly withdrew from Duthelmian territory taking the gate with them. The xorians marched north and settled in a desolate valley in the northern mountains. There they have remained to this day.
The demigod Xor rules as an emperor/god. It is absolute autocracy. All xorians live and die at his command. Beneath Xor are the four military ranks.

This rank structure is the government.
No laws exist. Only the will of Xor. Because of the Xorian telepathic network, Xorians do not break laws. Those that do are hunted down and killed.
Every Xorian is a warrior. The whole city is based on the military.
None. Xorians do not conduct trade with other nations or with each other. Xorians either make equipment and distribute it according to need or take materials from enemies by force.
Very little social life in the Rift Vale.
While little is known of the xorian culture, it can be said with a fair amount of certainty that the xorians do have magical capability. While most xorians do not seem to have spell ability, it is likely there there is at least one caste with magic. The nature of xorian magic is little understood and seems to be quite alien to what common wizards use.
One primary city of about 4,000 is known as Rift Gate. The central city is named after the stronghold which it protects, Rift Gate. The alleged rift is said to be contained beneath the central building of Rift Gate. Eight smaller encampments of about 400 each are positioned to form a protective net around Rift Gate. These encampments are stable and serve mainly as border defense. Many Xorian groups are tracked coming and going constantly among the smaller encampments and to the city.
